The client had offices in the US and now they were expanding their operations in India. Being into IT industry, the growth of the firm was expected to be much more than they anticipated and hence, they were not able to fit their people into the multiple locations in which they had their offices in Ahmedabad. Consolidation was a big part of the overall exercise. As their interior designers, we had a few targets; 1. To give them an office, which was equal or better than their offices in the US 2. To give them the kind of interiors where the existing clients as well as employees feel that they have a much better facility in their new office. We also had to keep into consideration their corporate colours, which were Grey and Orange. The design of this office had a lot of unique features. We had designed a large recreational area where the focus was on sports theme. That space included table tennis table and lot of other indoor games, which created a distinct character for the office. They also needed a lot of enclosed cabins as well as large open area for the programmers. As designers, we had fun working on this project as it gave us an opportunity to explore new materials and concepts, which we didn’t do earlier.
